Film involving syrup, cream, and sweets being poured on a statue of the Virgin Mary. I just find this so satisfying to watch, very relaxing. Really interesting how the subject here is a mannequin, in contrast to my live model. I think both work really well. This one is great because there's no distracting movement, so you can concentrate fully on the delicious hypnotic syrup glooping down the form, and the fact that she's gently turning just adds to the therapeutic quality of it. .

Zola Jesus: 'Stridulum'
An album cover Zola Jesus, featuring frontwoman Nika Roza Danilova being poured in melted chocolate. The link below gives an interview with her, explaining the thought process behind it a bit. It seems to be a childhood fantasy of a lot of people to be poured in chocolate or syrup of some kind. I think it's interesting how this idea of pouring chocolate in this case, or golden syrup in my case, over someones head can start off as being something really beautiful and serene, and the once the whole face is submerged it becomes like something out of a horror film, and actually quite abject.
